Close friend of the Duchess of Sussex and US TV personality, Gayle King has revealed the fallout of the tell-all Oprah interview with Harry and Meghan Markle.

Harry has spoken to his father Prince Charles and brother Prince William for the first time last week, says Gayle. She went on to say that the those conversations were not productive. Gayle said the royal family had not contacted Meghan following the couple's interview.

In the interview, Harry had said that his father Prince Charles had cut him off financially and at one point stopped taking his calls, he also described his damaged relationship with Prince William.

Gayle King said the couple were “frustrated” that alleged racism in the royal family had dominated the news agenda since the interview was broadcast on March 7.

She added, all they wanted was for the royals to intervene and tell the press to stop with the unfair, inaccurate, false stories. Gayle said that Harry and Meghan wanted “healing” in the family.
