President Ram Nath Kovind while addressing the Visitor's Conference on 'Implementation of National Education Policy 2020, said effective implementation of NEP is likely to restore India’s glory as a great centre of learning. Stressing that NEP 2020 aims to increase Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education to 50% by 2035, the President highlighted the twin objectives of inclusion and excellence. He also added that NEP seeks to discourage overemphasis on grades and promote critical thinking instead. He noted that Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) that will digitally store academic credits earned, will be of great help to students.
