Thursday night football at Stamford Bridge promised to be an exciting affair as hosts Chelsea played out a hard-fought draw against Everton. After a goalless first half, Chelsea's Mason Mount broke the deadlock in the 70th minute of play as the hosts took a 1-0 lead.
It looked like Chelsea would run away with all 3 points but against the run of play Everton hit back almost immediately. In 4 minutes, Jarrad Branthwaite equalised for the visitors despite the team struggling to put up an offensive show.
The match ended with the scoreline reading 1-1 as Chelsea were forced to split points and remain lodged at the 3rd spot on the table. Everton, meanwhile, stayed in the 14th spot on the Premier League points table.
