Delhi High Court on Friday granted bail to Preet Singh, accused of organising an event at Jantar Mantar last month where communal slogans were raised.

Justice Mukta Gupta directed that Singh be released on a personal bond of ₹50,000 with two sureties of the same amount.

As per video footage and Singh's phone records, the court said that Singh left the venue at around 2 PM while the communal slogans were raised at 4 PM.

It went on to add that right now 'it would not be appropriate' to decide whether words spoken by Singh will count as offensive under Section 153A IPC of hate speech.
