Mumbai police on Friday recorded actor Shilpa Shetty’s statement in relation to her husband Raj Kundra's case of alleged production and distribution of pornographic films through mobile applications.
Though the cops have not found any active role of Shilpa Shetty in the case, the actor was questioned as she was a director for Vivaan Industries, which is Kundra’s firm.
The Mumbai Crime Branch also conducted a search of the couple’s house in Juhu and seized a laptop. Reports say 20 TB of pornographic data and seven servers that were used to store it were seized in the raid.
Raj Kundra challenged his arrest before Bombay High Court on Friday. His police custody has been extended till July 27th.
The 45-year-old businessman has contended that the material on which the police has based his arrest does not “depict direct explicit sexual acts and sexual intercourse but shows material in the form of short movies which are lascivious or appeal to the prurient interest of persons at best”.
