According to a new review by the Australian government’s science agency, CSIRO, plastic bags and packaging are among the deadliest items in the ocean, killing marine wildlife across the globe.

The review found that animals across 80 different species have died by ingesting this plastic.

Flexible plastic and rubber was found to be lethal.

The research encourages nations to follow policies that put a ban on plastic and plastic items that eventually find their way into the ocean.
