Skoda Auto India has announced the launch date of the upcoming Slavia and the compact will be arriving as early as this month itself. Skoda will first launch the Slavia 1.0-litre TSI version on February 28, while the 1.5-litre TSI version will go on sale on March 3 this year. Test drives and deliveries will begin on the respective dates for both versions. Skoda commenced production of the new Slavia last month at its Chakan facility and the model is already on showroom floors pan India. It’s the second offering from the automaker under the India 2.0 strategy and is based on the MQB A0 IN platform. The model shares its underpinnings with the Kushaq that includes the engine and transmission as well as a basket of features. The new Slavia will replace the Rapid in the company’s line-up and prices are likely to begin under Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
