Switching to ethanol blended fuel extracted from local crops like corn, barley and sugarcane will help reducing India's dependency on crude oil import. And so, the government has mandated the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers to promote ethanol as a transportation fuel. Its recent flex-fuel exhibition saw participation from some prominent automakers and all these models will soon go on sale in India.
