Why WHO Recommended 'Mpox' As A New Name For Monkeypox

On November 20, the World Health Organisation (WHO) announced "mpox" as the new name for the monkeypox virus. While the first monkeypox virus case in India was reported in Kerala in July 2022, there was a worldwide outbreak of the virus during the time.
