If you’re looking for a natural way of boosting your vitamin A and C levels, papaya is your answer. After all, it’s not called the ‘fruit of the angels’ for nothing!

A healthy dose of Vitamin C could helps boost the production of white blood cells in the body, which are vital for fighting infections. In fact, WebMD says a large papaya has around 235 milligrams of vitamin C, which is two to three times more than you need to eat in a day.

The melon-like fruit also contains an enzyme called papain, which supports digestion in the body and is often associated with reducing constipation as well as the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Apart from being delicious, this power-punched fruit is great for the skin as well as it may reduce signs of aging. If you have an overripe papaya, just turn it into a face pack!

Keep in mind: when ripe, papaya can be consumed raw but make sure to cook unripe papaya before eating.
