The last US and Nato forces have left Bagram airbase in Afghanistan, where they were stationed for some 20 years in the war on the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.
The pull-out from Bagram could signal that the complete withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan is imminent.
US President Joe Biden has said US forces will be out of Afghanistan by 11 September.
At its peak, Bagram Airfield near Kabul saw more than 100,000 US troops camping at its vast compound.
Around 3,000 US troops were thought to be still in Afghanistan until recently, and they are due to leave along with some 7,000 allied foreign troops.
