Out of the world: ISS releases pictures of Earth's glowing horizon

The International Space Station (ISS) recently released photos of Earth's horizon that shone brightly in the dark surrounded by a multitude of twinkling stars. 

Pictures from space of the planet's urban landscapes are not uncommon, however, these photos of the atmospheric glow engulfing Earth's horizon took the Internet by storm.

Users of social media could not stop gushing about the beauty of the glowing Earth merged with stars' twinkling. 

The agency also attached a link to NASA Johnson's photo gallery on Flickr for those interested to have a look at more photos clicked in space.

One such photo taken when the Station was orbiting above Afghanistan captured the city lights of India and Pakistan while also highlighting the well-lit boundary between the two nations.
