Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday reached out to the opposition leaders after outrage over the cancelling of the Question Hour during the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament due to Covid-19 related restructuring. Several opposition leaders, including Congress Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Trinamool's Derek O'Brien have slammed the govt saying that it using the pandemic as an excuse to "murder democracy". Reports said that Rajnath Singh told the leaders that they can raise their issues during the Zero Hour. The session will have Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha working in separate shifts and there will be special seating for MPs to ensure distancing.
