In a blatant case of high-handedness, protesting teachers were gagged and dragged at a rally of Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi.

The incident took place at the CM's rally in Sangrur. The police were seen gagging, dragging, and loading women and men protesters into jeeps.

Qualified teachers who have been unemployed had gathered at the CM's event to protest and demand jobs. But as they raised slogans against the CM and the state government, police personnel were seen gagging the protesters and even stuffing cloth in their mouths.

While women protesters were manhandled by the police personnel and bundled in to a bus, men protesters were heckled and assaulted by the supporters of the chief minister.

The brutal police action on teachers drew criticism from the BJP. Social media was flooded with messages targeting Priyanka Gandhi Vadra over her women-centric campaign. Priyanka has given "Ladki Hoon Lad Sakti Hoon" slogan for the UP campaign.
