An 18-year-old physics student is about to become the youngest person in space, rocketing away with an aviation pioneer who will become the oldest at age 82.

Oliver Daemen, who graduated from high school last year and holds a private pilot's license, joins Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos, the tycoon's brother Mark and barrier-breaking female aviator Wally Funk to fly space on July 20.

The company announced that instead of the person who put up $28 million in an auction to fly into space with Jeff Bezos, Dutch runner-up Oliver Daemen will be on board.

In a video published on Twitter, Daemen says he is "super excited to experience zero-g and see the world from above."
