West Bengal and Odisha have battled to copyright the rasgullas for a while, and West Bengal got its tag in 2017. After submitting several proofs of how Odisha's rasgulllas are very different from the ones in West Bengal at the Chennai GI registrar office, the state has finally been granted its very own GI tag.
