The annual pilgrimage to the 3,880 metre-high holy cave shrine of Amaranth in the south Kashmir Himalayas was delayed this year to the Covid-19. Most devotes have been and will be unable to pay a visit this year. To tackle the restricted situation and facilitate the 'darshan' for the pilgrims, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has started a live telecast of the 'Baba Amarnathji Aarti' on Doordarshan National and live streaming on Youtube. The J&K administration said that this will ensure limited diversion of medical resources for the protection or temple authorities and pilgrims. Many pilgrimages across the country including Kaweriya Mela and Lal Baghcha Maha Utsav have been suspended due to the pandemic.
