The archaeological crypt of the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris reopened to the public on Wednesday, for the first time since a fire gutted its rooftop and spire in April 2019. It opened with an exhibition dedicated to 19th century writer Victor Hugo and architect Eugene Viollet-Le-Duc.
The crypt did not get damaged during the fire but saw severe toxic lead dust fallout after it. One of Paris' hidden gems, the crypt had to be cleaned of the toxins and made adaptable to Covid-19 measures.
