Noted playwright, actor Girish Karnad passes away

Multilingual actor and playwright Girish Karnad passed away at his residence in Bengaluru on Monday. The actor passed away at the age of 81. He was suffering from a prolonged illness. Famous in Hindi and Kannada cinema, Karnad was conferred Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan by the Government of India and has won four Filmfare Awards.
