Harvesting and procurement of the wheat crop have been further delayed in Punjab owing to both the Covid-19 pandemic and non-seasonal rainfall that hit the state on Friday. The farmers shared that if this continues, the standing crop will be destroyed. Wheat requires higher temperatures and a dry climate, but the rain has turned things around.
