No relief in April as Maruti’s sales continue to slip

Maruti on Wednesday said that the automaker sold 1.43 lakh units in April and reported a 17.2% decline year on year. India's largest carmaker's estimates came in below analysts' estimates of 1.5 lakh. In an exchange filing, Maruti said that total domestic passenger sales declined by 19.6% as sales in the compact segment which makes up for half of the firm's passenger sales fell by 13.9%.
