Indian equity markets surged in the opening session on Monday amid a huge rally in banking and financial stocks. Strong global cues also supported the domestic markets.
At 9:30 am, the Sensex was 383 points in the green at 39,850 and the Nifty 50 index was at 11,753, up 0.91%.
IndusInd Bank, Infratel, Axis Bank, Adani Ports and Tata Motors were the top index movers.
