Nifty, Sensex continue record breaking rally; Reliance moved over 1%

Sensex and Nifty ended Thursday at another record high as the bull run continues. Sensex rose 514 points to close at 57,852, while the 50-stock index Nifty ended above 17,200-level for the first time. Here are the highlights from the market's closing:

  • Index heavyweight Reliance rallied over a percent as it hit Rs 2,300 for the first time after October 2020
  • HDFC Life gained almost 6% as some reports suggest the company may raise a billion dollar. 
  • HDFC Life, Shree Cements, Cipla, TCS and Hindustan Unilever were the top Nifty gainers
  • IT and FMGC were the top performers for the day
  • Autos and PSU banks saw a little pressure
  • M&M, ONGC, Bajaj Auto, Divis Lab, and Tata Motors were the top losers for Nifty
  • 8 Nifty stocks hit fresh record highs
