Schools in Singapore will remain shut from Wednesday until May 28 as authorities warned new coronavirus strains like the one first detected in India were affecting more school-going children.
Online classes will take place for all primary, secondary and junior college students, as well as those from Millennia Institute and special education schools.
Singapore reported 38 locally transmitted coronavirus cases on Sunday, the highest daily count in eight months. The government has put tight restrictions in place in order to contain the spread of the coronavirus any further.
