Navratri 2024: Navratri is one of the main festivals of Hindus. Goddess Durga’s nine forms are worshipped in the nine days of Navratri. As per religious beliefs, Goddess Durga is considered the most powerful deity.
The ten arms of the goddess have weapons and it is believed that Maa Durga protects her devotees from evil forces with these weapons. This year the Navratri celebration began on October 3, and will end with Dussehra or Vijayadashami on Saturday, October 12

Trishul was given by Lord Shiva to Godess Durga. The three sharp ends symbolise the three qualities humankind is made of.
The gift from Lord Vishnu to Goddess Durgs symbolises the centre of creation.

It was given by Pawandev and Suryadev as a symbol of energy. It also symbolises that Maa Durga controls all the sources of energy in the universe.
Sword was given by Lord Ganesh. It symbolises knowledge and wisdom.
Gifted by Lord Indra, Vajra symbolises firmness of character, determination and supreme power.
Gifted by Agni, spear symbolises auspiciousness. It also signifies fiery power.
Lord Shiva’s gift to Goddess Durga, snake is a symbol of consciousness and energy.
It symbolises that humans should be loyal to the devotion of Goddess Durga and should keep love, loyalty and devotion the touchstone of their lives.
It was gifted to Goddess Durga by Lord Varuna. It is a symbol of the primordial sound called 'Aum' from which the entire creation emerged.
