A cyclist from Nashik has broken a world record at the tender age of 17. Om Mahajan, now holds the title for the fastest bicycle journey across India, he covered a distance of 3600 kms from Srinagar to Kanyakumari in just 8 days, 7 hours and 38 minutes.
The previous record was held by Lt. Col Bharat Pannu who took 8 days and 9 hours. Mahajan now hopes to take on the toughest cycle race on the planet, also called The Race Across America, or RAAM.
RAAM is an road cycling race held across the United States that started in 1982, it pans 3000 miles, climbs 175,000 feet, crosses 12 states.
