After nine years in deep space, NASA's Kepler space telescope is officially retiring after it ran out of fuel. Launched on March 6, 2009, the Kepler telescope has discovered 2,600 exoplanets. Kepler will now pass the torch to the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, which was launched in April this year and will continue our exploration of space.
