Multiple NIA raids in J&K in connection with IED recovery, arrest of militant chief

The National Investigative Agency on Saturday raided 14 locations in Jammu and Kashmir, including six in Shopian, four in Anantnag, two in Banihal, and two in Jammu's Sunjuwan, in connection with cases related to the recovery of 5 kg IED on June 27 and the arrest of Lashkar-e-Mustafa top commander Hidayatullah Malik. 

On June 27, two people were arrested by the J&K Police with an IED from Narwal area of Jammu hours after two explosions carried out by drones rocked the Air Force Station in Jammu Airport.

Lashkar-e-Mustafa is considered to be a front organisation of Jaish-e-Mohammad by security forces and its commander Hidayatullah Malik was arrested earlier this year. The terror outfit was planning to carry out major attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, according to the NIA.
