Muhamma grama panchayat in Kerala is all set to become the first panchayat in India to be synthetic pad-free. Recently, the Food and Civil Supplies Minister launched a project to switch to reusable pads made of clothes and menstrual cups. As part of the initiative the panchayat is distributing these reusable pads and menstrual cups to women in the village. The project comes with an aim to manage menstrual waste in the village. They will provide a maximum of four cloth pads and one menstrual cup to all women in the panchayat after collecting a nominal fee.
