Move over rentals, Airbnb will now design its own houses

A decade after revolutionizing the hospitality industry, Airbnb is now set to design houses from 2019, revealed co-founder Joe Gebbia to Fast Company. Called 'Backyard', the project could involve everything from standalone houses to multi-unit complexes making it both a creator and a marketplace for selling parts of your home. Knowing Airbnb's past work, the space design project could experiment with co-living concepts.
