Move over chits, Bluetooth chappals are the new cheating tool

From chits to chips, cheating in exams has also gone hi-tech.

Examinees sitting for highly competitive Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers or REET were caught using ‘Bluetooth Chappals’ to cheat. According to the officials, five accused have been arrested for trying to cheat in the exam with the help of ‘Bluetooth chappals.’

Police said that these chappals are fitted with bluetooth devices and have an entire phone inside. The candidates had a device inside his ear and someone from outside the exam hall was helping them cheat, police said.

After the first student was caught cheating in Ajmer, an entire cheating racket was cracked down by the police. Besides, in Bikaner and Sikar similar chappals were found which had Bluetooth and mobile devices fitted inside them, reports said.

The police have said that they are investigating if these chappals have specifically made for the cheating purpose. Reports said that such chappals may cost upto 2 lakh.
