Drugmaker Moderna has said that its Covid vaccine produced protective antibodies against the delta variant that was first detected in India and has spread to many parts of the world.
Bloomberg has reported that Moderna researchers tested blood samples from eight people for antibodies against different coronavirus variants, including delta. The vaccine “produced neutralizing titers against all variants tested,” the company said in a statement.
India on Monday approved Moderna Covid vaccine for emergency use.
Moderna had earlier published research showing its vaccine produces neutralizing antibodies against the alpha, beta, and gamma variants that emerged in different regions.
