Days after its disastrous show in the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls, Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maiyam seems to be unravelling. Party's vice president R Mahendran quit on Thursday alleging lack of "democracy" in the organisation.
Mahendran's exit came on a day when the MNM announced that six other senior functionaries have also gave their "resignations".
Calling Mahendran a "traitor", MNM chief Kamal Haasan said the former was about to be sacked from the party anyway and expressed joy that "a weed" has weeded itself out from the MNM.
The actor-turned-politician's party failed to win even a single seat in the 234-seat assembly.
