With just over a month to go for the ICC T20 World Cup, Pakistan’s head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis made a shocking announcement of stepping down from their roles. Due to the current change of regime in the Pakistan cricket association, where Ramiz Raja will take over the role of chairman soon, is said to have an influence on their decision. Raja has been very vocal about how Misbah and Waqar aren’t the best coaches for the Pakistan team.

Misbah on the other hand said that because of the current bio-secure environment, he couldn’t spend more time with his family and that has influenced his decision.
Saqlain Mushtaq and Abdul Razzaq would be replacing them for an interim period for the upcoming bilateral series against New Zealand. PCB will appoint the team management for the World T20 in the due course.
