Microsoft has issued an emergency Windows patch to fix a critical vulnerability in the operating system.

The PrintNightmare bug, if exploited, could allow a hacker to gain complete control of a user’s system, including the ability to change or delete any data, or even make a new user account with full rights.

Microsoft released a security update for all active versions of Windows to fix this issue, and even included Windows 7, which reached end of support last year.

Microsoft advises all Windows users to immediately update their systems.
