In a study, published in the journal Plos One, they shared that their findings place a certain doubt on the assumption that plastic stays put in the ocean and on the 'restorative power' of sea breeze. It is believed that this plastic is leaving the sea and entering the atmosphere with sea salt, algae and bacteria. The researchers concluded that the ocean is giving the plastic back to us and this is a result of mismanaged waste that comes from the terrestrial environment.
