Its a mega Monday in West Bengal as the campaign for the assembly elections picks up steam. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to hold three rallies on Monday in poll-bound eastern states — two in West Bengal and one in Assam.

On Monday, Shah will address public meetings at Jhargram and Ranibandha in West Bengal before flying to Guwahati where he will address a Town Hall programme.

Senior party leaders said Amit Shah and BJP president J P Nadda are also expected to meet the family members of 129 party workers in West Bengal who were allegedly killed in political violence in the sate in the last few years.

Amit Shah on Sunday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will emerge victorious in the coming assembly polls in Bengal by winning more than 200 of the state’s 294 seats.

Polls in the three districts he is visiting will be held in the first phase on March 27 and second phase on April 1.
