Malayalam Film wins big in Shangai

Directed by Bijukumar Damodaran, Veyil Marangal bagged the 'Outstanding Artistic Achievement' award at the 22nd Shangai International Film Festival in the prestigious Golden Goblet Award Competition. Starring Indrans in the lead, the film talks about a Dalit family from Kerala who lost their livelihood during the floods and subsequently migrated for a living. Turkish filmmaker Nuri Bilge Ceylan, an expert with slow-burning classics, was the jury chairman.
