A latest study done by British scientists found that the active psychedelic compound in magic mushrooms is as effective as an antidepressant drug and can really help patients suffering from depression.

The research involved 59 patients with moderate to severe depression who got doses of psilocybin and antidepressant medicine escitalopram.

The latest study was conducted under specific controlled conditions with two therapists and a regulated dose formulated in laboratory conditions. It is advised that patients with depression should not try to self-medicate with magic mushrooms.

We are all aware that depression is one of the leading causes of ill health worldwide, and existing treatments are often ineffective or have adverse side effects that lead patients to stop taking them. So now the question on everybody's mind is - how effective will the magic mushrooms' active compound be?
