The Madras High Court on Friday issued notice to the Centre on a writ petition filed by a litigant to declare Serum Institute of India’s coronavirus vaccine, Covishield as unsafe. The Madras High Court was hearing a petition filed by one Asif Riaz who had participated in the clinical trials of Covishield as a volunteer.
Riaz said he took a dose of Covishield on October 1 last year. He has claimed that after 10 days, he developed multiple complications and was hospitalised for 16 days. The high court has asked the Centre and DCGI to reply by March 26.
