Adult entertainment site Pornhub is facing legal action from the Louvre Museum in France and the Uffizi Gallery in Italy over its new art-themed adult entertainment app and website.
Called ‘Show Me the Nudes,’ the interactive platform reportedly features adult actors recreating classical works of art and using the masterpieces as jumping points for sexually explicit content.
The museums claim that this is a rights infringement as the adult site has no authorisation or permission to use the art. ‘It is necessary to have the permission, which regulates the methods and sets the relative fee to be paid,’ a representative from Italy’s Uffizi told the press.
Meanwhile, Asa Akira who is Pornhub's ambassador for the project asked people to 'skip all of the boring paintings like The Mona Lisa and go straight to the pervy stuff' in an Instagram post promoting the 'Classic Nudes' project.
