Paris Saint Germain dealt a huge blow just a day before their visit to Metz, as they will be without the services of Lionel Messi on Wednesday because of an injury to his left knee.

Messi, who was substituted on his home debut against Lyon on Sunday, underwent an MRI scan which confirmed signs of bruising to the bone. PSG confirmed that the former Barcelona star will undergo a follow-up examination in 48 hours. Messi has so far played 3 games for PSG since joining on a free transfer in August but is yet to score a goal.
