A 30-year-old US woman named Dakota Cooke is the perfect example when it comes to embracing oneself.

Dakota noticed abnormal hair growth on her face when she was just 13. She felt uncomfortable and struggled with anxiety over the same for 10 years.

Despite undergoing several tests, doctors were unable to figure out what caused Cooke’s facial hair growth. She also went to weekly waxing appointments and shaved her facial hair twice a day. But later decided to stop feeling the shame and accepted it positively.

A similar case was seen in Kerala where a woman made headlines for embracing facial hair on her upper lip. The 35-year-old Shyja had undergone 6 surgeries in a decade until she realised she wanted to live life on her own terms.
