We all know that Gen Z is known for setting trends. Over the past year, we've seen trends like 'quiet quitting' and 'bare minimum Mondays.' And now, there's a new trend making waves on social media: 'silent walking.'

Silent walking means going on a walk without phones or without listening to music, podcasts, or any sort of technical distraction.

A lot of people found the trend very interesting but some found it hard to understand that the younger generation finds walking without a phone so innovative.

Podcaster Mady Maio takes credit for “unintentionally starting a movement” that, she promises, will “change your life”.

In a TikTok video, she shares that her boyfriend was the initial one to propose the idea of going for a walk without any distractions.

“No AirPods, no podcasts, no music. Just me, myself, and I,” she said in the video, which has now gained almost 500,000 views.
