Mob Mentality has been there forever but when it comes to social media, it gets aggravated and people without thinking twice just hop onto trends.

Recently, this happened yet again when TikTokers started following the trend of sleeping with pieces of potatoes in their socks, thinking it would cure the flu in this winter season.

This bizarre remedy is known as ‘potato sock’ and has gone viral with hundreds of users trying this health hack. The videos and posts have collectively garnered a whopping 8.1 billion views.

People have posted videos of potatoes that had turned black after being there in their socks, saying the potato pieces sucked in toxins and cured them. While some have benefitted from this, some say it’s just a hoax.

Nutritionists also debunked the hack saying potatoes turn black anyway if cut and exposed to air and body heat. So, would you like to give it a try or just pass?
