Just a few days more and we will bid goodbye to 2023. The year went by in a jiffy and soon it will be time to make and break more New Year resolutions. While you make plans with your friends and family, let's look at the countries that will be welcoming the new year first and the last!
The Pacific Islands of Tonga, Samoa, and Kiribati are the countries that will welcome New Year first at 3:30 AM IST or 10 AM GMT. This will be followed by New Zealand at around 10:15 am GMT. Russia, Australia, Japan, China, and Thailand will follow suit.
Head to Howland and Baker Islands if you want to live in 2023 for longer as January 1 will begin there at 5:30 pm IST. They will be welcoming New Year the last in the world.
India will be the 16th country to welcome the New Year!
