Janmashtami is widely celebrated across the country by the Hindu community. The world celebrates the auspicious occasion of the birth of lord Krishna on Janmashtami every year. This year the festival will be celebrated on September 6 and 7 because of muhurat timings.

However, there is confusion around the accurate date for the celebrations of Janmashtami. According to drikpanchang.com Krishna Janmashtami falls on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, with dahi handi celebrations on Thursday, September 7, 2023. This is because Rohini Nakshtra and Ashtami Tithi are falling during the night of Janmashtami.
