QR Code Mehndi: The festival of Raksha bandhan is here. It is a beautiful festival celebrating the love and bond of siblings. In India the festival is celebrated in almost every state where mostly sisters tie the thread of love and affection called rakhi on their brothers’ wrists and the brothers bless them with gifts and money.
However, amidst this age and era of technology festivals and rituals have evolved and with social media we get to see many bizarre and surprising things revolving around them. Recently we came across a Rakhi with ‘Netflix and chill’ written on it which cracked us up and now QR code Rakhi is all over the internet.
During the occasion of Raksha Bandhan generally girls apply henna or mehndi on their palms, but this mehndi design has surpassed everyone’s expectations. In a recent widely circulated viral video, a girl is seen with a QR code mehndi design on her hand. The video then shows someone scanning the code and opening one of the UPI apps used to transfer money.
For the uninitiated QR codes are generally seen in UPI apps like Paytm, Google Pay, among others and are used to scan and transfer money.
The video was shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) by Ravi Sutanjani and has garnered much attention of social media users.
