Even though it is not an alternative to physical activities, laughter does burn calories. According to a study laughing for 10 to 15 minutes every day can burn up to 40 calories as much as we lose in a 3 minute run.

- Laughter also helps us live longer. A study in Norway found that people with great sense of humour lived longer than the ones who didn't laugh as much. The study was particularly done on those battling cancer.
