Every year, June 14 is observed as World Blood Donor Day. This day is celebrated to thank blood donors for saving someone's life and to raise awareness about the need for safe blood and blood products.
This year, the theme for World Blood Donor Day is Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.
However, there is still confusion among people about who can donate blood and the basic requirements that a healthy donor needs. World Health Organization has shared the list of basic things that are required for donating blood.
Moreover, there is also a detailed guideline about the behaviour eligibility criteria and it could again vary from country to country.
